Description/Favorites: "Blues Deluxe" has been on the WUML airwaves now for the past 26 years.
The name "Blues Deluxe" was a taken from a song written by Rod Stewart from Jeff Beck’s first album "Truth." "Blues Deluxe" debuted
on WJUL back in 1979 as a 1 hour pre-recorded segment of a 4 hour rock-n-roll show hosted for a short time by Tom Carbone. Tom left
WJUL in early 1980 and is currently the mid-morning DJ at WBLM in Portland Maine. After Tom left in 1980, John Guregian, Richard Gingras
and Steve McGonagle all decided to do rotating shifts so Blues Deluxe could continue and expand to a full time 4 hour show of it’s
own from 2:00PM - 6:00PM Saturday Afternoons. There have been many DJ’s over the years that have kept this program going and thanks
to them Blues Deluxe is still going strong today from 3:00PM - 6:00PM on Saturday Afternoon with your host John Guregian. Currently
the show features some of the best contemporary, regional and local blues music to our listeners. Every Saturday afternoon at 4:30PM
we feature "The New Blues CD of the Week" which is a recent new release played
uninterrupted in it’s entirety. Every so often we try
to bring you interviews and live local and regional acts into the WUML Fallout Shelter Studios to play live on the radio. So tune
in every Saturday afternoon for "Blues Deluxe"
